A book that argues for verification should show its own corrections. This page lists every change made to the text after first publication, with the date it was applied.
Which printing do you have?
Check the copyright page. The corrected printing reads “First edition, 2026. Corrected printing, September 2026.” If your copy does not carry that line, you have the first printing, and every correction below applies to it.

- Ch. 6 nn. 7–8: corrected mis-anchored notes.

No footnote was deleted and no note was renumbered. Every chapter carries the same number of notes as the first printing, and the book's internal cross-references resolve unchanged. The paperback is 117 pages before and after, so pagination and the printed table of contents are identical to the first printing.
Nothing in this pass changes the argument, the framework, or any factual claim. The substantive text is as first published.
Notes on three of the above
The editorial notes (Ch. 2 and Ch. 10). Two working reminders written during drafting survived into the printed footnotes. Neither affected a stated fact. The Chapter 2 note asked the author to re-check the per-tool hallucination rates and product names against the study; that check was completed and the printed figures were correct as they stood. The Chapter 10 note asked that a live database count be refreshed at press; the text's claim there is a deliberately conservative floor and remains accurate. Both reminders have been removed, and the Chapter 10 note now says plainly that the current figure should be confirmed against the live database before any future edition.
The duplicated footnotes (Chs. 2, 5, 6). Four notes printed twice, in consecutive positions, with identical text. This was a typesetting artifact: a note cited at two places in a chapter was set out in full at each one. The repair keeps the second note in place and replaces its body with a short back-reference to the first, so that no note was removed and every "see Chapter N, note X" pointer elsewhere in the book still lands where it did. In Chapter 6 the two notes had also become attached to the wrong sentences; they now carry distinct text, note 7 on the freshness observation and note 8 on the mid-2020 coverage seam.
"Confirmed by the author" (Ch. 6). Four footnotes authenticated a claim with the parenthetical "(confirmed by the author)" — four times in the first printing, at printed nn. 3, 7, 8 and 9; three in the corrected printing, since the note 7/8 repair above gave note 8 distinct text. Chapter 3 of this book argues that a check which cannot fail independently of the thing being checked is not a check. A footnote in which the author certifies the author's own claim reproduces that circle inside the book's own apparatus. The claims themselves are unchanged and the body text already frames them as the author's observations from his build. Only their attribution has been made accurate: each now reads "(the author's own record of the build; no external source)," which is what the parenthetical always meant and what a reader is entitled to know.
